MIDDLEDRIFT DAIRY

This dairy has been operating successfully for over a decade.

Milk production began in November 2008, and five months later, the project reached break even. This dairy operation uses previously unused land belonging to 65 Middledrift beneficiaries.

In the joint venture between the community, Amadlelo Agri, and the National Empowerment Fund,  the community provided the land and labour; the National Empowerment Fund provided R9,5m in loan funding. Amadlelo provided R8,2m in capital and technical expertise.

SECRETARY
Bulelwa Nchukana

Bulelwa, born in Annshaw, has a teaching diploma from the Griffiths Mxenge College of Education and an ACE management diploma from the University of Pretoria. She taught at the Nozalisile Senior Secondary School. as a teacher. She joined the Gwebindlala Trust in 2016 as treasurer.  In 2023, she was nominated to represent the Gwebindlala team.

SENIOR MANAGER
Sinokuphila Khekhezwa

Sino joined Amadlelo Agri’s Fort Hare Dairy in June 2017 and remained for four years of experience. She spent a year at Chiswick Farm in New Zealand.

JUNIOR FARM MANAGER
Thobela Fikelephi

Thobela joined the Middledrift Dairy in January 2017 and holds a national diploma in animal production (artificial insemination and dairy production management).

INTERN
Tshungulwana Sikelelwa

Tshungulwana, who was born in Cofimvaba, completed her diploma in animal production from the Fort Cox of Agriculture and Forestry Training Institute.  She joined the Middledrift Dairy in 2023.

ADMINISTRATOR
Athenkosi Mbambalala

Athenkosi was born in the rural areas of Nqamakwe in the Eastern Cape. After matriculating,  she completed her diploma in farming management from the King Hintsa TVET College. She joined Amadlelo Agri in 2016 as a trainee. After a short break, she joined Middledrift Dairy as its Administrator.
