This dairy has been operating successfully for over a decade.

Milk production began in November 2008 and five months later, the project reached break even.

This dairy operation uses previously unused land belonging to 65 Middledrift beneficiaries.

In this a joint venture between the community, Amadlelo Agri and the National Empowerment Fund, the community provided the land and labour; the National Empowerment Fund provided R9,5m in loan funding and Amadlelo provided R8,2m capital as well as technical expertise.

Jeanet Rikhotso is a graduate of the Tshwane University of Technology.  After qualifying with a national diploma in agricultural animal production in 2008, she joined the Fort Hare Diary Trust after which she was appointed as the Senior Manager of the Middledrift Dairy.
